Erda Gerçek

Erda Gerçek works as an Instructor at Koç University Graduate School of Business where he delivers courses on topics such as Global Economy, Turkish Economy and Strategic Thinking Under Uncertainty, Developing Intellectual Financial Capital at Executive Education, Executive MBA and MBA programs. He also works as a strategist and consultant for companies in diverse sectors. He is an international speaker on economics, finance and strategy. Gerçek holds a BA degree in Economics from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey. He worked both as a strategist and a portfolio manager. He has over 21 years of investment experience, all of which with Citigroup Asset Management and its successor Legg Mason International Equities. He started with CAM in 1989 in Zurich managing treasury products. Subsequently he progressed to managing future and options guaranteed products for Swiss pension and later for UK pension funds. In 1991 Erda co-founded the Global Emerging Market Equities team in London, managing money for the Latin America, EMEA and Asia regions. He undertook two secondments to Citibank's Hong Kong office as the Regional Strategist and Chief Investment Officer respectively. Erda has delivered trainings on markets and economy, to the employers of regulatory agencies and central banks, in particular. He is currently the managing Partner of Thales Training and Consulting.
